Celebrating the Life of Mr. Daniel Anderson, Psalm 1:1, Saturday, August 23, 2014, 11:00A.M., St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, 230 Arnold Street, Hapeville, Georgia 30354

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found peace at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times ofsorrow I wish you the sunshine oftomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much Goodfriends, good times, a loved one's touck
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undo grief.
ift up your hearts and peace to thee
wanted me now; He set mefree.

"But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night". -Psalm 1:1
The essence of compassion and generosity, the repository of a keen, perceptive wit and humor, the model of solicitude and generosity, Daniel Anderson was the consummate gentleman. Without fanfare or expectation, he gave frequently and effusively to family and friends, expecting nor requiring anything material in return. Rather, realizing the blessings that God had afforded him, Daniel's desire was solely to assist those in need and to illustrate the necessity and rewards of hard work and the rewards of living a disciplined, moral life.
A native of Brunswick, Georgia, born August 26, 1927 to Frank Anderson and Flossie Fair Anderson, Daniel realized the value of education and lifelong learning, evidenced in his receiving his elementary and high school education from Brunswick, Georgia's Risley Elementary/High School, his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Arts from Tuskegee Institute, his Master's Degree from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois. Accordingly, Daniel's chosen profession was that of a History, Mathematics, and Industrial Arts educator in the public schools of Decatur. Georgia; Canton, Georgia; and Atlanta, Georgia, the school system from which he retired after thirty years of service.
This patriarch , daddy, and granddaddy for multiple generations was an example and advocate for the young , especially young African American men. An avid sports enthusiast, Daniel rewarded his hard work through gardening , fishing , building and repairing , and traveling extensively. He possessed a faithful, ardent, imminent love for his wife, Dr. Blanche Hamilton Anderson who cared for "Her Dan" singularly and relentlessly until his transition.
Testimony to the life of this humble, dignified, insightful, nonjudgemental gentleman is found with those who are left to emulate his life and mourn his passing; his devoted and faithful wife, Dr. Blanche Hamilton Anderson; his siblings, Virgie Anderson, Mary Anderson Veal, Abraham Anderson, Brunswick, Georgia, William Anderson, and Samuel Anderson; stepsons, Bruce Lewis, Arnold (Pamela) Perkins, and Karl (Mary) Perkins; stepgrandsons, Brian Lewis and Alexander A. Perkins; granddaughter, Toykaumi (Toy) Hollins; beloved nephews and nieces, Felicia (Tobe) Greene, Marvin Heller, Marian A. Hollins, Marita Page, Jorrye Green , Jacinta, Justin, and Jordan; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sibling, Peter Anderson .
Farewell to our "Dan The Man", this consummate gentleman, this epitome of genuine manhood.
