OBITUARY
MARY CATHERiNE ALLEN was born on January 24, 1934 to Mr. Jo~eph H. Allen, Sr. and the late Mr~. Lurlene C. Allen.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1952 and attended Clark_College for one year.
Mary became a member of the Central United Methodist Church at a very early age.
a She has had wealth of work experiences and at the
time of her passing she was affiliated with Cpntinental -Insurance- Company. She was the first Black wom.an to . hold- the position of assistant underwriter with the Atlanta Branch of the Continental Insurance Company.
Mary was a very dutiful person and was admired by her many friends and associates.
Mary departed this life March 24, 1973 and leaves to mourn her passing a devoted son, Gerald; her father, joseph Allen, Sr.; two brothers joseph Jr. and Lytle and a host of relatives and friends.
