Mrs. Lizzie Ruth J\llen \Vas born June 18, 1938 to the late Lucious and Kizzie Tin.sley Holden, Sr. in Conyers, Georgia. She -vvas educated in the public school system of Lithonia at Bruce Street School. She was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Nathaniel .1-\llen. They were married for over fifty years and from this union one devoted son was born.
She joined Saint Paul A.I\LE. Church at an early age where she served on both the Steward and Ste-vvardess Boards for many years. Lizzie also served and \Vas the President of the Missionary Society in \vhich she extended a helping hand through the corrununity. She '\vorked for the Dei<alb School System for many years until her retirement in 2001. During her time \vith the school system she worked at both Rainbow Elementary School and Lithonia High School. Lizzie had a friendly personality and joyous spirit. She loved to fello\vship -vvith her church family as \veil as other different churches.
Lizzie \vas preceded in death by her brother, Lucious Holden, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Mr. Nathaniel AJlen; one son, :tvfr. and 11rs. Nathan Allen (Lisa); one devoted granddaughter, :tvfrs. I<imberly (Dennis) Crockett; tvvo great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jacob Crockett; one brother, lv1r. Frank Holden; one sister, Ms. Dorothy M. Holden; one sister-in-law, 11rs. Lillie Bell; a host of nieces, nephe-vvs, cousins and friends.
We little knew that dqy, God waJ going to callyour name. In life we lovedyou dear!J, in death, we do the .rame. It broke our hearts to loJeyou. You did notgo alone.
