~The Family ~

When I come to the end ofthe road And the sun has setfor me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul setfree?
Miss me a little-but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me-but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone.
It's all a part ofthe Master's plan, A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick ofheart Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss Me-But Let me Go!

May we take this opportunity to express sincere and deep appreciation for allowing us to serve you during this most difficult
period. It is our constant aim to afford to the people ofthis community a service completed in all details andfaultlessly
executed with sympathy and understanding.
Most Respectfully,
Evergreen Ford Covington, Elbert Covington, Bobby J. Davis and Staff

"I have fought a goodfight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
Mrs. Jimmie Lee Walker Alexander was born May 12, 1931 in Cusseta, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James B. (Jim) Walker and the late Charlie Mae Gardner Walker. Upon moving to Columbus, Jimmie was raised by a loving and devoted aunt, the late Mrs. lola Walker Webb.
Mrs. Alexander was educated in the public schools in Muscogee County. She attended 5th Avenue Elementary School and was a proud graduate of the 1949 Class of William H. Spencer High School. Education was important to her and her wisdom far exceeded her years.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church. Mrs. Alexander faithfully served as a member of the Stewardess Board and held membership in the senior adult ministry, Pillars of Holsey. She loved her church and served until her illness prevented her from doing so.
In 1950 she was united in holy matrimony to Charles H Alexander, Sr., and to this union six children were born. Jimmie was preceded in death by Mr. Alexander in 1972. Mrs. Alexander demonstrated the greatest example of unconditional love a mother could provide for her children, loving them all equally.
Jimmie was employed by Kirven 's and later by Gaylords, where she served as a manager. With an unwavering love for children, she joined the staff at Wynnton Road Elementary School as a licensed paraprofessional, where she later retired. Why retire? She continued the great work ethic instilled in her and in which she instilled in her children. She assisted the staffat River City Orthopaedics (her son 's office) with specific office duties on clinical days. Like a mother, she prided herself in doing an outstanding job, and lovingly "keeping the staffin line. "
Mrs. Alexander had a special gift ofhospitality and loved to cook. She loved music and she loved to sing and dance. Jimmie also loved to travel, especially with family members and her high school classmates, affectionately known as "The 49ers. "For several years, she was an active member of Zeta Amicae ofColumbus (an auxiliary ofZeta Phi Beta Sorority).
After an extended illness, on Good Friday, April 18, 2014, God called His precious daughter home. Jimmie was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. James H Webb, and one sister, Mrs. Martha W Turner. She leaves beautiful memories to cherish with four sons, Erskine Alexander (Clementine), Emory Alexander (Alicia); Arnold Alexander and Charles Alexander, Jr., all of Columbus, Georgia; two daughters, Ninette Davis ofNorcross, Georgia and Pamela Perkins (Arnold) of College Park, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Erskine Alexander, Jr. (Sabrina), Travis Alexander, Erica Simmons (Torrence), Jared Alexander, Kira Alexander, Tiffany Davis, Amber Davis, Charles Ryan Alexander, Lendon Alexander and Alexander Perkins; two great grandchildren, Amirah Alexander and Aja Alexander; one sister, Equilla King of Columbus, Georgia and a host of close relatives and dear friends .
