Description
The online collection consists of property deeds recorded in Chatham County, Georgia from March 1785 to July 1806. Types of deeds include quit claim, administrator, guardian, probate, security, trust, slave bill of sale, or fi fa (sheriff's). These deeds are the official recorded copy transcribed into volumes by the clerk of the Superior Court. Deeds include: date of instrument, names of contracting parties, purchase price, legal description of property, county, signatures, and date of recording.
