The photographs in the database are from the Nix-Price collection, which contains photographs (1920-1959) mainly taken by LaGrange photographer Snelson Davis and consist of portraits of area residents; LaGrange residences, buildings, and churches; and local events, such as Callaway Picnics and the courthouse fire of 1936; the Callaway Educational Association Photographs, which date from the early part of the 1900s to the 1980s and consist of events associated with the Callaway Educational Association, such as athletic events, dances, and holiday events, as well as images of Callaway Mills, mill villages, and mill employees; the Katherine Hyde Greene Collection's photographs from the early 1900s to the 1990s, which are of homes, businesses, and public building throughout Troup County and depict several covered bridges, most of which are no longer in existence, and the construction of West Point Lake and Dam; the LaGrange College Collection, which date from the late 1800s through the 1970s and depict of events associated with LaGrange College, such as classroom activities, Homecoming, and May Day, and scenes of buildings on campus; the Post Card Collection, which show various homes, businesses, street scenes, and public buildings throughout LaGrange and Troup County during the early part of the 1900s through the 1960s; and the Callaway Gardens Collection, which includes images from the early development of Callaway Gardens (late 1940s to early 1950s) up to construction of buildings, such as the Sibley Center and the Day Butterfly center, and Cason and Virginia Callaway and their families.
