The collection consists of three letters from Samuel Worcester, Salem, to Reverend William Jenks, Bath, Maine, in 1815. Letters regard missionaries in India, plans for a mission in Ceylon, ordination of missionaries, language and methods to use for converting Native American Indians to Christianity, Worcester's plan for Native American Indian missions, and possible missionaries to send on an exploratory trip. Also included is a signed engraving of Worcester (undated)., Letters dated September 25, 1815 and November 15, 1815 are also available online as part of the Southeastern Native American Documents database.
