The Georgia Railroad Bank was responsible for the creation of the rail line from Athens, Georgia to Augusta Georgia and was one of the premiere local businesses of Augusta GA until it was acquired by Wachovia bank. Wachovia Bank was in turn acquired by Wells Fargo., The physical collection contains annual reports, reports of the general manager of the Georgia Railroad, Minutes of the board of Directors, State of the Bank reports, Adams Express Company receipt book, shareholders of the Georgia Railroad and Banking Company and banking transactions.
