Description:
Four years of college life expanded the opportunity for creative experiences. The most elaborate and inclusive of college events were the Old English Christmas Festival and May Day. Both had roots in "English Tradition" and carried stylized elements forward from year to year. A May Queen, elected by the Student body was a feature of the May Day Celebration. Here is Queen Virginia Hutchinson (Culpepper) of 1935-1936 and her court.
