- George Dekle Busbee (1927-2004) served nine terms in the Georgia House of Representatives. Busbee, a Democrat, was elected governor in 1974, serving two consecutive terms after getting a state constitutional amendment passed allowing governors to serve two terms. His priorities were education, economic development and prison reform.; Interviewed by Mel Steely on April 17, 2003 at Busbee's home in Duluth, Georgia.; This interview discusses Busbee's time after he left the governor's office. He begins the interview speaking about his time with King and Spalding Law firm. Busbee speaks of various companies that he was a member of the board of directors or in an advisory capacity. He then speaks of being on the boards of the Metropolitan Atlanta Council for Economic Development, the Regional Economic Institute, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Business Forum and Vision 2020. His work on these boards was important for creating and fostering economic prosperity for the state and the region.; The tape ends mid-sentence.
