- This photograph shows the shell-damaged Potter House in Atlanta. As the official photographer for the Military Division of the Mississippi, George N. Barnard documented in 1864-65 some of the destruction left in the wake of the Civil War.
This photograph shows the shell-damaged Potter House in Atlanta, Georgia. A large portion of the rear wall on the second story has been destroyed. Several smaller holes appear in the exterior walls of the house. Fallen trees lie in the yard surrounding the house. Branches lie on the roof of an outbuilding behind the house. - Metadata URL:
