- Description:
- Items from the Herbert Creecy Papers collection that feature sketchbooks dated between 1994-2002. Herbert Lee Creecy, Jr. (1939-2003) was an exceptionally talented and successful abstract expressionist artist who lived and worked in Georgia. The sketches in this collection are composed of mostly abstract and floral forms, linear sketches resembling computer circuits and abstract aerial landscapes. These sketchbooks reveal the importance Creecy placed on discipline and steady, dedicated practice and precision. Most of the sketches are done in black pen and ink, but there are some in color.
