Significance: The Bolling Bridge is one of only four known thru-truss steel bridges constructed in Georgia after 1945; the bridge is a good mid-twentieth-century example of this bridge design. The Bolling Bridge was constructed as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Lake Lanier project, a major regional project that provided Atlanta and north Georgia with hydroelectric power, flood control, water supply, and recreational amenities.
