- This collection contains correspondence and writings, photographs, and newspaper clippings chiefly by and about Florence Ewell Atkins, her speeches, and her work with the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. Reverend E. C. Atkins (1855-1949) was a Methodist clergyman who worked with prisoners at the State Prison Farm in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was married to Florence Ewell (1863-1940), a well-known, national speaker for the Women's Christian Temperance Union, on the subjects of Temperance and Woman's Suffrage. Their son, D. Ewell Atkins (1887-1956) was married to Helen Wilkinson (1886-1968).
