- Segment one: Hurricane Floyd and Mayor Floyd Adams, 0:00-4:42. Second and third grade students at Marsh Point Elementary School show their appreciation to Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr. by designing a billboard to honor the mayor. Following the mass evacuations in Savannah due to Hurricane Floyd, the students found it therapeutic to express their experiences through art, and thanked Mayor Adams for preparing for the hurricane to keep everyone safe. Civic Magazine interviews some of the students about their experiences evacuating from the hurricane, and Mayor Adams speaks to the children about persevering through tough times. Segment two: Moses Jackson Center grand opening, 4:42-7:21. Grand opening of the Moses Jackson Center, a multi-purpose community center in west Savannah. Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr. and other city officials and community leaders participate in the ribbon cutting. District two alderman Gwendolyn Goodman and Mayor Adams give speeches on the importance of community centers in serving Savannah's youth. Segment three: Ribbon cutting of the Lead Poison Prevention Program, 7:21-11:22. Civic Magazine reports on the ribbon cutting of the Lead Poison Prevention Program, a new initiative that began during that year's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. The program aimed to reduce the amount of lead in housing units. Civic Magazine interviews program director David Wilson on his strategies to remove lead from existing structures, and several city health officials and community members give speeches on the merits of the program in improving child health. Segment four: Sister city exchange with Mutare, Zimbabwe, 11:22-17:24. Civic Magazine reports on the ceremony welcoming the sister city exchange delegation from Mutare, Zimbabwe, Savannah's sister city. The Mutarean delegation studied tourism and housing operations in Savannah and exchanged information and ideas with city officials. Mayor Floyd Adams, Jr. speaks about his experience visiting Mutare, and a member of the Mutarean delegation talks about how informative the exchange program is for learning about urban development. Alderman at Large Gary Gebhardt speaks about the mutual benefits of the exchange program.
