- Description:
- In this interview, Joseph Hatch recalls his history as a Naval officer in the Atlantic and the Pacific during World War II. He had already earned his Masters in Business Administration before the war began, but a friend warned him that war was coming and that he should consider a career in the military. The navy felt he had too much education to become an aviator and assigned him to logistics, but urged him to receive all the training he could, such as logistics and chemical warfare. He received his commission and sailed aboard an attack cargo ship (AKA) during invasions of Italy, France and Japan. He recalls his civilian career and how his Navy training helped him.
