- View of the Richardson House in Nacoochee Valley, Georgia, which was built by Reverend John L. Richardson in 1830.

Rev. Jesse Richardson and family, from North Carolina, settled near Duke's Creek in Nacoochee Valley in the early 1800s. He had three sons, Tom, Joseph, and John L., and one daughter. His son, Reverend John L. Richardson settled near Duke's creek in 1830 and built an I-house, which was still standing in 1976. The first gold in Georgia was found near the house site in 1828. - Local Identifier:
