The Theta Zetas are known to be janitors in Dr. Rountree's room every Tuesday. Those
pretzel crumbs are kinda messy.
Theta Zeta Phi is a faculty car wash in the middle of December .
The Theta Zetas are thinking of a new slogan such as -- Have bake sales, will travel --
to Myrtle Beach, that is .
The Theta Zetas are famous for eating tender fluffy pancakes .
The Theta Zetas are responsible for the crumbs on the floor of the lounge due to their bake

If it weren't for cup cakes, what would the Theta Zetas do?
Keeping up with the Theta Zetas is having a bright orange bikini!
Being a Theta Zeta is riding a frog on the Merry-Go -Round.

The meeting was called to order by
Dale Lieber, the president. Miss Conge-
niality reported sixty-six cents for our
most prized slave. The minutes were
read by the Oral Interpreter and the Cro-
cheting Club reported that the Bridal
Shop will be opened from eight to ten in
the evening, the Easter Bunny's ears were
falling, Slob Day was a barrel of fun, Mrs
Weitman was wearing something we want
and one Gamma Chi car was washed.
Under new business, it was suggested
that a tackle softball game be played with
the Gay Deceivers, losers to be put in
the Drunk Tank for mug-shots. Lipstick
and bobbysocks must be worn to the game .
After the game, there were finger paint-
ing lessons with Marcia. At the Gamma
Chi Awards Banquet, spare ribs with ba-
nana splits were served. THEN ALL WILL
BE LEAVING ON A JET PLANE. Also
suggested: a 69-70 Happening with Judy
singing "What Do You Get When You Fall
In Love", and Gaylord will tell us about
her DATE .
The meeting was adjourned with con-
gratulations and best wishes to our Sen-
iors .

Church -- Brotherhood -- School have been
the guidelines for the J. S. Green Society
since 1897.
All brothers, past and present, have
been and are happy to be a part of the con-
tinuous growth and development of Pied-
mont College. Many of the most famous
alumni of Piedmont have been active mem-
bers of J. S. Green Society. Since 1897 the
J. S. Greens have always taken pride in ex-
celling in sports and civic participation, as
well as being among the leaders academi-
cally.
J. S. Green Society has had a very suc-
cessful year, starting the school year with
Bob Duckworth, president; Lee English,
vice-president; Keith McCall, treasurer;
Steve Parker, secretary; Ronald Ledford,
chaplain; Duane Hedden, sergeant -at -arms;
and Mike Queen, ICC representative. These
officers led the society in many worthwhile
projects. At the annual election this spring,
the following brothers were elected to serve
next year: Keith McCall, president; Mike
Queen, vice-president; Dave Rankin, secre-
tary; Donnie Miller, treasurer; Kenny Wells,
sergeant -at -arms; Steve Sigmon, chaplain;
and Steve Kasper, ICC representative. The
Society is looking forward now to the annual
fun trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina .
The society has obtained the use of the old
Thrift Shop which is now in the process of
being cleaned and remodeled. The Greens
are looking forward to having the nicest house
on campus. Many new projects are planned
for the future, and the J. S. Green Society
looks forward to helping Piedmont College
toward a brighter future .

This year the Protropian Society entered
its seventy-third year on the Piedmont Col-
lege campus. The 1969-70 academic year
has been one of the most eventful in the his-
tory of the Protropians .
Perhaps the most charitable activities the
Protropians have sponsored this year was
the food drive for Thanksgiving and the annual
Christmas party for the underprivileged
children of Habersham County. The Protro-
pians arranged for Governor Lester Maddox
to speak at a college chapel service. In con-
junction with the Gamma Chi's, the Protro-
pains sponsored two Happenings which took
place atop the Zip -Coed. The cafeteria was
the scene for the 1970 Valentine Dance,
sponsored by Protropians .
The Spring Formal, the most important
event of the Protropian year, was held on May
8, 9 and 10. The new officers were announced
for the 1970-71 year as follows: Les Cole, pre-
sident; Ken Kleven, vice president; Mike Her-
skovitz, rush chairman. At the formal the
Protropian Sweetheart, Miss Lawrice Kay
Johnson, was crowned.
The Protropian Society exemplifies in its
attitudes, actions and activities, the true
meaning of brotherhood.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE FOR THE 1970 YONAHIAN
by Dr. James E. Walter
The beautiful Mayflower weathervane at the top of our Chapel spire is a new mes-
senger of inspiration on our campus. It is a reminder of the rugged pilgrims who
sailed the high seas between Holland and Plymouth Rock. It is a challenge to all of us
who believe in our God given mission of providing quality education in an atmosphere
of wholesomeness and morality on our wind swept red clay hills.
In the Sixties our friends who believe in "Helping young people to help themselves"
contributed millions of dollars for bricks and motar . We replaced old wooden struc-
tures with modern brick buildings, like Daniel Hall, the enlarged Library, the third
floor of King Science Hall, Wallace, Getman-Babcock, and Purcell Dormitories.
In the middle of the past decade, 1965, we achieved our long sought goal of accredi-
tation, membership in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Thus the
immediate past decade was indeed a most important chapter in the history of Piedmont
College.
The plans of the administration for the Seventies include the continuation of improv-
ing the physical plant and enriching the academic life. The Chapel is scheduled for
completion in the fall of this year. Then, as soon as sufficient gifts are gathered, we
shall move ahead with our plans for building a Student Union, which will include a
cafeteria, dining rooms, and beautiful new space for all of our student activities.
I believe in the teaching of Jesus that God is our Heavenly Father and that he knows
about and is concerned with the welfare of every sparrow. This is my religious basis
for believing that a church related and gift supported independent college should like-
wise be concerned about the total welfare of every student. We continue to follow the
traditional policies and accept the corresponding responsibilities of "in loco parentis."
Our physical facilities are planned for an ultimate student enrollment of not more
than 700. Qualified faculty members will be added as needed to maintain our policy
and program of providing personal attention for every student through small classes
and a tutorial atmosphere.
I am persuaded that our tutoring services, without extra charge to students, pro-
vide a dual set of significant values. Students who need extra help in algebra, chemis-
try, English, or any other subject are able to receive this essential service simply
by speaking to the professor. At the same time, students who need to earn a part of
their way through college are able to earn money and gain teaching experience at the
same time. Thus, all concerned are given choice opportunities to make good in their
academic pursuits .
We plan to continue this distinctive set of services to studying students without
charge, and to teaching students with pay.
We plan to hold fast to our Scriptural motto; "Whatsoever things are true, noble,
right, pure, lovely, and honorable, think on these things ." Phil. 4:8.
