- Rev. Dr. James E. Walter was president of Piedmont College from 1949-1983 and remained closely associated with the College until his death in 1989. In the early 1980s, he wrote these short biographical sketches of people who had been significant in the life of the College from the earliest days of the College to the present, including students, faculty and staff, members of the Board of Trustees and of the local community.
