- Piedmont College's first known student yearbook was named The Mountain Lantern. "Mountain Lantern" is said to have been a local expression at that time for fireflies. The full extent of its publication is not known, but the Library possess three issues published between 1912 and 1914. The 1912 edition describes itself as the first of what was hoped to be many.
