- Lillian Smith reminisces about her life, especially her childhood in Jasper, Florida. This recording took about three months before Smith died on September 28, 1966. A transcript of this recording was published in the Virginia Quarterly Review, vol. 58, no. 4, Autumn 1982. The transcript is freely available on the VQR website, where the preface says it was recorded on June 14, 1966, by Joan Titus in Atlanta, Georgia.
