- This is an off-the-air recording of the famous debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley, the most prominent participants, at the Cambridge Union Society of Cambridge University on February 18, 1965, in Cambridge, England. This debate was broadcast on radio and television and was a defining moment of the years that saw the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
