- Letter of Thomas Woodrow [Sr.] to Robert Williamson, father-in-law of Thomas. He gives an account of the terrible voyage of the Woodrow family to New York from Liverpool and expresses sorrow over the recent death and burial of his wife Marion, the daughter of Robert. The immigrating Woodrow family includes Woodrow Wilson's mother, Janet Woodrow, then a child. He briefly describes their life in New York, and the city itself. New York (N.Y.), February 23, 1836. Includes a handwritten copy of the letter.
