- Letter written in 1836 by Thomas Woodrow, father of James Woodrow, to his father-in-law, Robert Williamson. He gives an account of the terrible voyage of the Woodrow family to New York from Liverpool, and the death of the his wife Marion soon after their arrival in America. The immigrating Woodrow family includes Woodrow Wilson's mother, then a child. He briefly describes their life in New York, and the city itself. Includes a handwritten copy of the letter.
