HOMECOMING NIGHT
On a freezing night in November,
many people gathered at Porter Stadi-
um to watch the Southeast Warriors
take on the Warner Robins Demons.
Aside from cheering for the football
team, everyone was anxiously await-
ing the presentation of the Homecom-
ing Court. Halftime finally arrived and
after the band, the flag corps, and the
drill team succeeded in a beautiful
performance, the 1993 Homecoming
Court was announced.

PROM: A WHOLE NEW WORLD
Memories
Tis here at last, this night of
nights
Sweet music, dancing, soft
dimmed lights.
So laugh, and sing all hearts
be gay,
Recall, remember, each past
school day.
Let us pause from our dancing,
remember the past,
Our share of memories, always
will last.
Lifes beckoning call, tomorrow
we'll meet,
But tonight we'll hear only soft
dancing feet.

ASSEMBLIES
Our assemblies were few in number
this year, but the message that was
talked about taught a great lesson.
Suicide, which has become a big
problem in society, was the topic. By
having speakers on this subject the
point was trying to be made that sui-
cide is not the only way out of prob-
lems that we may be faced with.
Left Denny Brinkman introduced the guest
speaker to the student body.
Right Jerry Johnston talked about his expe-
rience with teens and suicide.
Southeast has a reputation for al-
ways turning out winners in the
Cheery Blossom Pageant, and this
year was no exception. Out of ten la-
dies who participated, we came out
with two princesses. This was a great
experience, and these two will prove
that Southeast will always turn out
Cheery Blossom Royalty.

ceived her crown.

STYLE: LOOKS THAT SAY IT
Style is defined in the
eyes of the beholder. Up-
beat; that could describe
the fashions our fellow
friends show off day by day,
but the word most think
says it all about todays gar-
ments is flashback! Look
around you, see that chick
across the room with the
body suit on? When you get
home ask your mom if she
has one in the attic with all
her old clothes. Those have
been recycled from the ear-
ly 60's. See that guy who
just walked past you with
the rattlesnake skin boots
on? They date back to be-
fore your parents got
moved out of the one-room
schoolhouse! Just remem-
ber no-one is ever out of
style, because style is only
made popular by the peo-
ple who have a taste to be
different.
You go girl!

Snorting Our Oum Look
Although the 92-935 Cross Country

because of the tremendous show of

A KICK IN THE GRASS
The 1993 Soccer season was con-
sidered a success to Mr. Echols, the
new coach. Although they did not
have a winning season they did their
best and put forth hard effort which
payed off in two wins. Thanks to all
the players that went out and put forth
their best Hope to see you next

PAK TAKE IN THE ACTION
The golf team consisted of a total of
six players. Despite the fact that they
were young and inexperienced, the
1995 golf team came in second in the
city. All of the participants will be
coming back next year and Coach
Griffin hopes for a promising season.

ANYONE FOR TENNIS?
The Southeast tennis season was
yet again plagued by bad weather and
lack of courts. Although practicing
was difficult and cooperation was
slim, the boys and girl's tennis teams
made it through. The girls, coached
by John T. Jones had a successful
winning season. The boys, coached
by Henry Ficklin, were small in num-
ber but determination prevailed and
they have high hopes for next year.

Designing The Future
The Southeast Art Club helps to promote the schools
awareness of the fine arts. The members learn about new art
techniques at meetings from various speakers and college
representatives. In the spring, the Art Club sponsors the annu-
al Art Show to publicly display the artwork designed here at
Southeast. The club contributes to our campus beautification
project through artwork, murals, decorations, and clean-ups.
They also help the community through the collection of
canned goods and distribution to the local food banks.

Striving For Excellence
The Southeast Beta Club, a chapter of the National Beta
Club, is an organization that honors students with high
achievements and leadership abilities. Many service projects
are completed each year by the club. The motto, Let us lead
by serving others, is truly one that our club lives by. The
Southeast Betas went to the annual state Beta Convention in
January held in Atlanta where they competed in a variety of
academic competitions and elected new positions for state
officers. Some of the local projects they have participated in
this year are: tutoring during both lunches, donations to the
American Cancer Society, Kids Yule Love, MDA, trick or treat
bags for the Childrens Hospital, and a kitchen shower for our
schools Family Living Center. The Beta Club also sponsors
the ever popular Valentines messages, a sales drive to help
finance the state convention.
The final closing of an exciting and productive year comes
to an end with a reception honoring the members and the
sponsors for all of their hard work and dedication. Awards are
given and the famous Beta Beagles are also given. The
night is topped off with an emotional slide show of all of the
years activities and rememberable moments captured on film.

Helping Others
The Southeast Jr. Civitan Club, Advised by Mrs. Williams, is
a part of the International Civitan Club. Its purpose is to devel-
op initiative and leadership in its members and to encourage
all youth to live fuller lives by unselfish services to others.
Some of the services the Southeast Civitans have participated
in this year are: two American Red Cross Blood Drives, weekly
bowling with handicapped children, holiday visitations to local
nursing homes here in Macon, and helping to prepare the city
for the Cherry Blossom Festival by painting blossoms across
downtown. They helped recognize teachers on Valentines Day
by sending Teacher Grams, and joined in the Spring Fling
activities with their marriage booth. The Civitans also partici-
pated in an annual Dance-A-Thon to benefit the Civitan Inter-
national Research Center in Alabama and hosted a spring
dance for its members to raise money for convention. The
Southeast Civitans are definitely a major contributor to our
school and the city.

Helping Hands
The Southeast Frater Sodalis, advised by Mr. Ficklin, gives
students a way to aid and enhance our school and community.
Their motto: Faithful forever, Dishoring never;; has held true
this past year. Members organized a successful Southeast
New Attitude T-shirt sale, raised money to help purchase
jackets and trophies for 9th grade athletes, and the Juicy
Juice sale. During Spring Fling the club also sponsored the

cultures. They show not only the members but the entire
school how others live their lives and their beliefs. At each
meeting members are able to experience the taste of delicious
dishes from all over the world while learning about them. The
lessons cover a wide range of subjects from viewing pictures of
the selected country to celebrating its holidays.

Caring Friends
The Southeast chapter of Students Against Drunk Driving,
better known as SADD, proved themselves a vital part of our
school this year. While having their largest membership this
year with nearly 30 members they showed their dedication
through their hard work. They helped to sponsor Red Ribbon
Week during National Alcohol Awareness Month by distribut-
ing red ribbons to all students to be worn during the week.
Also, a number of times during the year SADD members tied
red ribbons on the students cars to promote safe driving over
the various holidays. Although SADD was slow getting orga-
nized they feel they will be ready to be highly acive on campus
next year.

The Leo Club helps out our school and community. They
help those in need by contributing a lot of time and effort to
the blind. They sponsor parties for them, volunteer at camp,
and help out whenever they are needed. They never forget the
people in need, especially during the holidays. At Thanksgiv-

Leading The Way
The Southeast Student Council allows its members to dis-
play their leadership abilities by dealing with many aspects of
governmental life here at Southeast. It is one of the most
active organizations at our school. Throughout the school
year, the Student Council plans activities in support of SPIR-
IT for the school. Some of these activities include pep rallies,
contests, Spring Fling, elections, and Homecoming. The pur-
poses of student governments are to promote leadership, re-
sponsibility, personal growth, self-discipline, and good citi-
zenship among the student body and to promote better inter-
school relations within the city. Student Council has worked
very hard in making our school all it can be.
SIGNAL/PERKCEPTIONS
Literary Minds
The Southeast Signal and Percep-
tions staff headed by Mrs. Lamb has
done an outstanding job both inform-
ing and entertaining our school this
past year. While working vigorously
to meet deadlines they have man-
aged to report on subjects ranging
from school sports and activities to
school gossip and news.

Fired Up
Pep Club is an organization to promote Southeasts school
spirit. They sponsor many events to make our school exciting
and fun. For Valentines Day the Pep Club hold their annual
Sweetheart Coronation with the judges being the male portion
of our student body. During American Education Week, they
served refreshments for faculty and staff. In recognition of our
sports they sponsor the All-Sports Banquet. They honor the
outstanding athletes in all sports. Also for our basketball
games they work for our concession stand to raise money for
our school. During the school year, on May 29th, they hold an
annual Six Flags trip for all students. The Pep Club arranges
these activities and more to enhance our everyday school life.
ACADEMIC TEAM
Whiz Kids
The Academic Team is provided
with the opportunity to travel to sev-
eral different schools throughout
Georgia to compete on a variety of
subjects. They put brain power to-
gether with common sense to pro-
duce the right answers to some very
difficult questions. The Academic
Team members, along with their ad-
visor Mrs. Pace learn interesting facts
to use at the many competitions.
They serve our school with pride.

New Additions
Mu Alpha Theta promotes scholarships and enjoyment and
understanding of mathematics among high school students.
New to Southeast this year, Mu Alpha Theta advised by Mrs.
Patricia Wilder has made its mark attracting new members.
The club meets about six times during the school yeartohear
different speakers and plan for upcoming events. This yearthe
club is working to raise money for a copy machine in the math
department by collecting a million pennies. The club also
helped out at the elementary math meet and took an educa-
tional trip in the spring to Six Flags to learn how the rides
operate.

Ecologically Alert
The Southeast Science Club, advised by Mrs. Howell, is a
great asset to our school and our environment. Their purpose
is to explore the areas of science and to increase the aware-
ness of Southeast students on environmental issues affecting
our world. They have managed the recycling center, the as-
tronomy project, and helped with the paper airplane contest.
They took part in the Science Bowl, the Problem Solving Bowl,
and took a camping trip to Sapelo Island. The club is also an
extension of the Georgia Junior Academy of Science. The
Science Club will continue to strive as they have this year.
PHEONIX
This year has had its ups and downs for the annual
staff but hey! it was well worth it. Deadlines came and
went, and most of the time the pages were not complete,
but there is alot going on in the annual room that no one
ever sees. Alot of hard and agonizing work goes into
producing a yearbook, and this year was no different.
Problems were always popping up too much copy, not
enough copy, no liquid paper, no pictures and no type-
writers availablel!
But all in all this year has been a success, for this years
annual staff has put together some of the greatest memo-
ries for everyone to see! Enjoy and relish the fifth edition
of the Phoenix.

Our Brandi Nichole
She came into our lives in Au
gust 1975 such a short
time ago.
From yesterday's bouncing
red ball to todays white soft-
ball.
From a tiny princess to Miss
Freshman and Miss Junior.
How could this be? We haven't
had time to do it all!
Now, she'll take another direc-
tion come June of this year.
Graduation will be another
step and challenge for her.
But, she has set her goals and
looks ahead with joy
So, we wish for her well, this
our precious daughter.

missed was directed by John T.

Crumbliss. You are introduced to the
main characters in the opening
scenes. Scott Brennan (Rusty Saw-
yer) is a flirtacious jock with his

Adare (J.J. Jones). Elaine Novak
(Kathryn Simpson) was a nerd in love
with Donald Quentin (Jacob Patten)
who was quiet and shy. Bobby Nei-

in his second year teaching and ev-
erything seems to be falling apart.
His wife, Emily Banks (Brandi Cran-
ford) has announced that she is leav-
ing for a job promotion. Scott is a
constant nuissance and Mr. Banks
has been asked to leave his teaching
position for awhile. Under constant
pressure, Mr. Banks pulls out an un-
loaded gun on his class and de-
mands they pass a test. Throughout
the play Mr. Banks is trying to teach
his students to stand up for what they
believe in and to find the person with-
in themselves.

A new day begins here ~
Be it a day of time -
or a day.of life
And nuishes on,
Then pauses to reflect a moment;
Then rushes on again only to,
end as all things must; ym f .
And what the day has been
Shall never be again
. But what it is shall be fore
