we dedicate our yearbook
to these
who are themselves dedicated
Beginning a new school requires sincere devotion from
the principal, the faculty, and us, the students. Being
new, we have all had to learn by trial and error. Had
it not been for your enthusiasm and determination,
Miss Henry and Mr. Cagle, we would never have at-
tained the high ideals set for us. So to you we dedicate
this, our first Markseter. With your continuous dedi
cation to us and our long lasting dedication to you,
may we always maintain the high standards of H.
Lasseter and Mark Smith High Schools.
She is
as pleased with Lasseter
as we are.
. a true friend to all.
Everything
seems to happen
at once.
Promptness
is one of his many
qualities.

FOREWORD
To be the first at something yields a wonderful feeling. This year, our first,
we were able to feel the thrill of being new. The classes, the football, the
laughter, the tears were all special for they were the first. The annual staff
of H. S. Lasseter and Mark Smith High Schools has tried to capture in these
pages all the exciting moments that we experienced as we took part in mak-
ing 66 such a great success. Even if we all remember this year differently, we
will surely never forget one thingthat this was the beginning.

Practice makes perfect
The
littlest
angel
Absolutely shocking!
It's as easy as walking on air.
What's the matter, Kay?
Oh, the joy of being alive!
Thats what you, get for throwing spit-
balls!
Hmmm, let's see here. . .
Hey, It really works!
This work is so exciting!
Aw c'mon Sueit's not that bad!
Charade!
Simon says
Beauty is only skin deep
Yow, girls, when you press that little button
Let's see here, one nickle and two dimes is
Get out, Harvey. You rode yesterday!
But Mr. Small, it says here that Batman can
Watch outhes on one foot!!
As Kitty weakens,
008 Stephens
slips a little
more deadly poison
into her drink.
Merry Christmas
Hey, fellows, you might think I'm kidding, but
Excuse me, but we had planned only 2 to a person
Contemplation
Ever tried smiling?
Hurry honey, here they come!
Buy a WHAT?
Jump back baby!
Hmm, which book to read?
Only one year old?!
The year ends. We look back to see the hills
we have climbed. Our thoughts reflect back
to incidents that have since become memo-
ries. In a way we are sad for we know there
can never be a year quite like this one. Never
again will we experience the thrill of being
new. In the midst of our reflections though,
we turn and see the crest of yet another hill.
We know the road leads on to tomorrow,
next year, forever.
