The quality of mercy is not strained;
It droppeth, as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath; it is twice blessd
It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes.

MESSAGE
I am pleased to extend congratulations to the-graduating class of 1961 at

nual, "These We Cherish, " is symbolic of the high value which you place upon
the rich and abundant experiences gained through your school studies and activ-
ities during the past several years. May they be a steadying influence and a
powerful incentive for the achievement of the real and meaningful values of
life.
Best wishes for your success in the future!

PRINCIPALS
MESSAGE
I am very happy, as the principal of Ballard-Hudson High School,
to congratulate the Senior Class on their presentation of the 1961 Tiger.
In carrying out the theme, These We Cherish. . .," be ever mind-
ful of, rapid changing global affairs to the extent that you gain broad
concepts and ideals which will be of great value to you as you take
your place in the society of the world.
Your years at Ballard-Hudson are years in your past; evaluate them
and determine whether or not your best has been given, If there are
things that can be improved, start now. You can only arrive at the
top by beginning your climb early.
Your key to success and happiness is excellence in performance
in whatever you do, You must not be satisfied with less than your
best.

SHAKESPEARE
Years, even decades hence, when Time has mellowed our lives,
and when inventory is taken of our human wares, we shall count among
our blessings many things, Countless details of moments that are even
now history will stand illumined in our memories as precious gems to
be cherished.
With a nostalgia engendered by the reflection of one of the great
dramas of our lives, we shall hold the image of these scenes among
our choicest possessions long after this moment or that fleeting instant
has been buried in the ashes of a cold past.
On these pages, let us revive the slumbering; let us re-enact the
play. Knowing that these golden memories will capture for us an in-
finity of togetherness, WE CHERISH .
