Often, our lives resemble a game of chance.
We do not expect the strange twists and turns
thrown our way on our journey from childhood to
adulthood, such asthe changes high school brings,
breaking up with a girffriend or boyfriend, or taking
the SAT Still, it is only natural fo want to fully
monopolize life. With each new move we make
and the transition that comes along with it, not only
are we offered many opportunities in education,
athletics, and extracurricular activities, but we
become wise enough to take advantage of such
opportunities. Throughout this, we must have the,
courage to throw the dice, be ready to take risks
and be willing to face any obstacles thrown in our
path. In addition to many challenges, life also gives
us many good times. We must remember to enjoy
these special moments, the moments that chal-
lenge us to go beyond our own expectations, guide
usto draw the cara that decides our fate, and binds
us together with the common goal of living, loving,
and caringfor others. These are the moments we
celebrate in these pages.

Score Card

Another round is complete. As we look back on
the game we have just played, we may notice
pitfalls and detours along the way: late nights spent
Studying , teachers and tests that were too hard,
and feelings of being overwhelmed. These are
merely spaces on the board, however that pro-
vide alternate routes to the same goal of SUCCESS.

The game has not been all drudgery, however tt
has been filled with moments of surprise and
excitement. We have come to look forward to the
Strange twists and turns, the unexpected event just
around the bend. We could not have foreseen the
quickness with which this school year began and
ended, or the snowfall that prolonged our winter
break. Nor did we expect the construction of a
Performing Arts Center that will provide us with a
grand building to showcase our myriad of talents.
Weknow,howeverthatthe game will continue. We
have learned merely from playing it These are
lessons that we will take with us to the next chal-
lenge, lessons that will help us to play future games
and hopefilly taste victory.
