The trip through 80

was really great,
The best ever in

the Georgia state,
The ride was rough,
The girls were bumpy,
The teachers were tough,
The boys were lumpy.

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

BUSINESS EDUCATION

In Business Education, students learn
the importance of business activities
in the world around them. Through
the use of simulated working
conditions they become familiar with
different job requirements. Several
work programs (VOT/IOP) are
available in which students may
receive school credit for their off-
campus jobs. Students are also
encouraged to participate in the
Future Business Leaders of America
(FBLA) which is sponsored by the
department.

Vocational programs at the High
School are primarily designed to
provide students with exploratory
training experiences in vocational
electives. These electives provide job
skills for those who intend to enter
directly into employment or plan to
continue their training at the post-
secondary level after graduation.

MATH

Awards given each year to a
student (usually a senior) with the
highest academic average for 4 years
of math.

Activities our students participate
in the Gordon Jr. math contest and
in the Middle Ga. math contest
sponsored by Macon Jr. College.
Gordon Jr. Contest Winners Pictured
Above Martha McAfee, Todd
Fredrick, Linda Lowery, and Tim
Smith.

Science Students are encouraged to
become proficient in the use of the
scientific method, and its resultant
critical thinking. Students should
learn more than a mere History of
science and should be able to apply
scientific principles to their daily life.

MUSIC

Music at Crawford County High is an
intergal part of the daily program.
This means that music is recognized
1s each childs heritage and as part of
the here and now of day to day
living. Music is designed for the
students enjoyment, as well as a
earning process that is correlated
with school and community activities,
such as Christmas programs, leterary
events, and one act.

The year 1979-80 has been a turning
point for many Crawford art students.
The art projects that we attempted
will serve as a basic for the careers
we will pursue after graduation. This
year we experimented and improved
in many areas. Among these were,
silk screening, air brush painting, and
background scenery. The projects
have been educational and lots of fun.

ENGLISH

The English Department attempts to
help students to become proficient in
the language arts. Students who show
promise in writing and speaking are
encouraged to participate in the
annual literary events.

In todays fast world a rather
complete knowledge of social studies
is needed for an average American
citizen and government student to
enable him to understand the
problems of the world. A well-
rounded social studies program
provides each student with the
essential ability to understand the
functioning of American government
and the heritage of our history. It is
generally recognized that a student
that has had the full compliment of
the social studies is well prepared to
exercise his rights and privileges as a
citizen and to cope with the problems
confronting him in a fast moving
world. The social studies program at
CCCHS will enable a student to
achieve this preparedness.

HOME ECONOMICS

Home Economics offers study in 4
areas housing, foods and nutrition,
clothing and textiles, child and family
development. Modern facilities
include microwave range and many
electrical appliances sewing
machines, a vital part of clothing
education Relaxed atmosphere for
learning and enjoying Home
Economics Career and consumer
education in each area.

Physical Education is for the entire
body, not only does it develop the
body, but the mind as well. The skills
that are learned during your High
School Education days will carry
throughout life. There are sports
taught in our P. E. Department which
are considered life long sports,
examples ... Tennis, and other
recreational games.

FAMOUS QUOTES

We are the class of 80

Our year was really great.

We will remember that time,

We were to graduate.

Some thought it would be easy,
Some knew it would be tough,
Some made As and some made C
And for others the road was rough.

+999,

8,

Do you know why she flunked Drivers
Ed.?
Because she automatically got in the back
seat.

History Student: I know that I have missed
alot of days, but the grade of 64 on my
progress report means I still have a chance
to pass.

Mr. Irby: Youve missed so many days that
what you dont know is that these are re-
port cards!

Student: Tell me what you think of my
composition.

Teacher: Teachers are not supposed to use
that type of language!

Boys talking during class change: Who was
that girl that just walked by?

I dont know, I wasnt looking at her
face!

Student: What happended at the football
game last night?

Another Student: I dont know, when I
woke up everyone was gone!

First Student: Have you seen Coach Adams
write on the blackboard?
Second Student: Yes, with a step ladder!

Mr. Johnson to an Annual Staffer: What
did I just tell you to do?

Annual Staff Member: You tell me and
we'll both know!

Football Coach to player during practice: I
told you to tackle him, not to tickle
him!!!

Cheerleaders Talking: Have you checked
your goose today, to see that its not loose
today?

Student to teacher before final exams,;
What score will I need to make on my final
to pass this class? Teacher back to Student

As best I can figure you will need to
make a 14,793.

Students talking How did you do on
that test last period? Answer: Was that
what that was?

Students in lunchroom How much will
you pay me if I eat that?
Answer If you live I'll pay you $1.00.

Junior after taking the S.A.T.

That wasnt so bad!

Another Junior ... What do you mean,
Ive never seen a harder test!

First Junior not for me, I kept my eyes
closed

Football player talking coach Adams is
really a shining example to his football
team.

Second student That is because he and
his hair had a falling out.

First student Which lunch group does
Mr. Bassett eat with?
Second student
Third!!

First, second, and

Coach Adams after being asked why he is
sometimes called Papa Bald Eagle ... I
haven't the hairiest idea!

Student studying Chemistry ... Mr. Tea-
gue, Is it true that R2D2 C3PO = Scrap
Metal?

Another year has ended; our trip has
come to an end. The road has been
rough at time, but our encounters
have made the journey worthwhile.
All the many happenings are still so
fresh in our minds, memories that
will last forever. We must now begin
to think of new horizons. Our futures

seems so full of promise. We now
leave one bus to soon board another,
for we still have so far to go. May our
journeys continue to be rewarding;
may our flat tires be few and far be-
tween.
