BRIDGE

VOLUME XVI 1975
MACON COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
MONTEZUMA, GEORGIA

WORDS SPOKEN BY THE
PROPHET ABOUT YOUTH

YOU MAY GIVE THEM YOUR LOVE BUT NOT YOUR THOUGHTS,

FOR THEY HAVE THEIR OWN THOUGHTS.

YOU MAY HOUSE THEIR BODIES BUT NOT THEIR SOULS

FOR THEIR SOULS DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF TOMORROW, WHICH
YOU CANNOT VISIT, NOT EVEN IN YOUR DREAMS,

YOU MAY STRIVE TO BE LIKE THEM, BUT SEEK NOT TO MAKI
THEM LIKE YOU.

FOR LIFE GOES NOT BACKWARD NOR TARRIES WITH YESTERDAY,

YOU ARE THE BOWS FROM WHICH YOUR CHILDREN AS LIVING ARROWS
ARE SENT FORTH,

THE ARCHER SEES THE MARK UPON THE PATH OF THE INFINITE, AND HI
BENDS YOU WITH HIS MIGHT THAT HIS ARROWS MAY GO SWIFT, AND
FAR.

LET YOUR BENDING IN THE ARCHERS HAND BE FOR GLADNESS:

FOR EVEN AS HE LOVES THE ARROW THAT FLIES, SO
HE LOVES THE BOW THAT IS STABLE.

KAHIL GIBRAN

The above lines epitomize the way that the seniors of 1975 at Macon County High School
feel. We have not been ridiculed because of our differences, but loved for our differences. We
have worked hard this year on everything that we have done, hoping to make it the best year
of our lives, but we realize that life cannot stand still and we have to move on to another way
of life. We hope that all of the students and faculty will enjoy the memories that we have pre-
served in the 1975 Bridge using the theme A Break In Tradition.

We would like to take this opportunity to
thank Mrs. Williams and the lunchroom staff

realize that it is impossible to please 500

this.
