Dedication
In Dedieation:
For being an understanding teacher.
For believing in and supporting
school spirit.
For mixing fun with learning.
For being a teacher . . . and a friend.
Mrs. Linda Kelly
I saw and heard, and knew at last
The How and Why of all things, past
And present, and forevermore.
The universe, cleft to the core,
Lay open to my probing sense
The world stands out on

Another Day ... Another Year has
passed us by ... but not without allow-

and the pains of failure ... As we glance
back over the year it is not without mixed
emotions.

FALL:
The beginning of a new school year; for those who
return it is an old friend ... for those new, it is the
start of a different and soon exciting year ... those
who knew its old walls well, admire and respect it for
being a special part of their life
As the seasons sport enters, a warming spirit comes
into the air: a devotion to the team, which in turn
strengthens the devotion to the school . . . Yet, no matter
what the loss in play, the feelings of the students are still
in high respect for their team and school

Seminar
The Pioneer Staff was gently introduced to
the hard facts of producing a great year-
book. At the Mercer University campus,
Taylor Publishing Company held a seminar
for its customers.
We listened; we got ideas; we had a cold
lunch of chicken, slaw. cokes, biscuits
and...
ANTS!?!
After the class sessions the staff
decided to visit the campus book
store and maybe find something of
interest. Besides having all the sup-
plies for the students, they carried
a well stocked selection of varied
and interesting books. Without a
doubt we all found exactly what
we wanted.

The Demons came on with a late season surge to rank Number One
in Middle Georgia and Number Two in their region during regular
season play. This was due not only to their great playing ability
but to their desire to win.
Although they had a fifteen and eight record, the Demons showed
great potential as they reached the heights of Number Seven in
Georgia 1-AAA standings.
KENNY THOMPSON JIM WALL JOE DANIELS
Lamar Deaver, last years B-Team coach,
proved himself worthy during his first
season as head basketball coach of the
Demons. Credit should also be given to Don
Lord, assistant coach, for his help in mak-
ing the season a success.

following night the Demons

quarter the locals again found
themselves behind. They overcame this deficit and led by
one with 0:35 left to play. A sure victory turned to grief
as a pass was intercepted and a foul committed. The foul
shot was missed but consequently a field goal was made. The
Demons, now behind one, made a final effort as Dennis
Wells iced the game with a 30 foot goal leaving four seconds
to play and a 58-57 victory for the Demons.

Demonettes Finish No. 1 in
Coach Sid Whites Demonettes captured the region 1-AAA crown
with an exciting 35-32 victory over crosstown rival Northside.
Warner Robins, defending state champions, and Northside finished
one and two respectively during regular season play. Each had one
loss being to each other. This resulted in the toss of a coin for the
tournament. Luck proved helpful as the Demonettes won the toss
but it was more than luck that won the championship for the girls.
It was obvious that it was no easy game as the score stood 4-3 at
the end of one quarter. W.R. took a five point lead to the dressing
room. At the end of three they were down one but then came on
with a decisive victory. Charity tosses really were the deciding factor
of the game as the Demonettes outdid them 19-4. Lynn Brazzell
carried the team through the final quarter and finished as the games
top scorer.
Both Northside and Warner Robins will represent their region in
the State tournament.
SIDNEY WHITE The Demonettes started slow but now the defending state champions
look as though they are headed for another title.

from LIFE
The Worlds a bubble, and the
Life of Man
Less than a span:
In his conception wretched,
from the tomb
So to the tomb:
Curst from the cradle, and
brought up to years
With cares and fears.
Who then to frail mortality
shall trust
But limns the water, or but
writes in dust?
Yet since with sorrow here we
lived opprest,
What life is best?
Courts are but only stper-
ficial schools
To dandle fools:
The rural parts are turnd
into a den
Of savage men:
And wheres a city from all
vice so free
But may be termd the worst
of all the three?
Our own affections still at
home to please
Is a disease:
To cross the sea to any
foreign soil,
Perils and toil:
Wars with their noise affright
us; when they cease,
We are worse in peace;
What then remains, but that
we still should cry
Not to be born, or, being
born, to die?
Francis Bacon
from THE THOUSANDTH MAN
One man in a thousand, Soloman says,
Will stick more close than a brother
And its worth while seeking him half your days
If you find him before the other.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine depend
On what the world sees in you,
But the Thousandth Man will stand your friend
With the whole world agin you.
*Tis neither promise nor prayer nor show
Will settle the finding for "ee.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine of *em go
By your looks or your acts or your glory
But if he finds you and you find him,
The rest of the world dont matter;
For the Thousandth Man will sink or swim
With you in any water.
Nine hundred and ninety-nine cant bide
The shame or the mocking laughter,
But the Thousandth Man will stand by your side
To the gallows-footand after!

Now, with the year at its end... . we begin to think
and realize . . . . this year, for some, maybe just
another .. . . but to some concerned, they stop, and
to think to themselves This is my last year, its hard to
believe .... But I have enjoyed high school, and now
that I am leaving, I will really miss it... .
1s a Freshman I didnt consider myself that im-
portant, I was lost in a new place, filled with neu
faces ....and as a Sophomore there were many friends
and we had a great time together .... then as a Junior
I started growing up, because I knew I only had one
year to go, and I had to start preparing myself for that
world out there . . . . Now, it seems like only yester-

The Student Council has been working steadi-
ly this year toward its goal of providing an
intermediate level between the students and
the faculty. Recently, under the direction of
Mr. Barnes and Miss Carroll, the organization
of the Council was patterned after that of
our national government, with a Senate, House
of Representatives, and Presidential Cabinet.
The Student Council has proved to be a
worthwhile contribution to WRHS.

has engaged in many activities, projects and services. For
example, the clubs projects and services included sponsor-

The Future Homemakers of America have been ex-
tremely busy this past year. We entertained the
school with our annual Powderpuff football game;
we had another exhibit at the Houston county fair;
and we also worked on many constructive school im-
provement programs. The Future Homemakers of
America Club works hard to be one of the most pro-
ductive and vital organizations at Warner Robins
High School. Membership in the FHA is open to
anyone who has, or is taking home economics,
and who is willing to strive to better herself and
her community.

God
And they said to me .
Truth will make you free .
Seek and you will find . .
Make the world well.
And I said to them .
What is truth and by whose measure?
Where will I seek and by what measure?
How will I make the world well?
And they said to me...
Truth is your choosing .. .
Seek where you will .-. .
Your time will come... .
But make the world well.
And I said to them... .
Truth is myself .. .
My time is here... .
I have made my world well.
But yet another word I hear.
Yes .
You have found your truth .
Your time is here .
You have made your world well.
But take these .. .
your truth, your time, your world.
Others beg of you to find them
in your world.
Help them to seek .. .
show them your truth... .
Share with them your efforts

Give to them your love.
Help them with their efforts to
find
The life within their souls
The gifts they possess.
All

The Annual Staff:
Revisited
Eddie Editor
How to put a yearbook together.
Acknowledgement
We of the 1966 Pioneer take this
opportunity to acknowledge the magnifi-
cent efforts of our advisor and personal
friend, MR. MAX CROFT.
\ man who has inspired our
every movement, (often with shocking
efficiency.) A man who is one of the
nicest, refreshing, most versatile persons
we have ever had the opportunity to as-
sociate with.
Not only that, but he personally
dashed through smouldering ruins to res-
cue his box of Crayola crayons.
If youve never had an opportunity
to meet Mr. Croft, youve missed a lot.
Many of his students consider it an honor
to get a C from him. One fellow ac-
cidently got an A+ and went into con-
vulsive laughter; but hed felt hed
earned it.
WE SALUTE YOU, SIR
WE LOVE YOU
. isnt that nice . . . but youre
going to fail!
And so another year ends .
In order to make the yearbook more interesting we
have made many changes and additions this year. All
thanks and credit should go to the new members of the
staff. Without the slightest knowledge of where to
begin they have done an excellent job.
I personally hope this annual caught a portion of
the year that you will always remember.
I believe I speak for all in saying that this years
annual has been the best, not because of the work in-
volved, but because of you, and everyone else who
EDITOR
made it possible.
