Memories are made of this
Of children, the most interesting people
in all the world, our memories are fashioned
from your ambitions, your dreams, your
accomplishments. True, there have been
disappointments, but God, in His in-
finite wisdom has given to us, your
teachers, such a generous portion of
the art of forgetfulness that our
memories consist only of the good
For you, students of 1957, we are
building another room in our

A day in the life of a demon begins
every morning around 8:15. Students arrive
at school in many different ways. Some ride
buses; some ride motor scooters; some walk;
and many have their own cars. Our ample
parking lots are filled to overflowing every
day.
In every school some students must be
excused for coming late or for being absent
the day before and ours is no exception. Aft-
er everyone is cleared to go to class, our
Typi

morning roll call and devotion is held, for
we feel that a devotional period.is the best
possible way to start a day.
Hard work now begins for both the
students and the faculty although it some-
times appears that neither is expending
much energy. We have tried to give a pictor-
ial report of every curriculum offered at our
school with students and teachers at their
work.
Not every minute is spent working,
however, because of assemblies, physical ed-
ucation, class and club meetings, band, and
varsity athletics offer character building di-
versionment for all students that wish to
participate.
The best part of the day is the lunch
hour because we have an efficient cafeteria
that provides us with well rounded meals.
After lunch there is plenty of time to get to-
gether with nothing to do but talk, and most
of the students firmly exercise this right.
We hope that these pages typify a day
in the life of a Demon to you. We have a
wonderful faculty to advise us and each of
us need their help at one time or another.
The heartaches and successes that we
have experienced here at Warner Robins
High School will make better men and wo-
men of us in later life.

FOOTBALL 1956
The 1956 edition of the Demons was per-
haps the best in the short football history of
our school. From the opening victory over AAA
Southwest DeKalb to the defeat of unbeaten
Fort Valley, the Demons compiled a six win
three loss one tie record. This was an excep-
tionally good season considering that Warner
Robins had jumped from Class B to the fast
AA Region. Coaches Kirksey and Musselwhite
should be commended for the fine job they

HOMECOMING 1956
The big game of the year is the home-
coming game. This year Irwin County of Ocilla
was the opponent, and became the first team
to defeat the Demons on this date, The sea-
son's largest crowd watched the contest and
saw Ocilla score two touchdowns before the
Demons tallied late in the game to make the
final score 12-7. Miss Gwen Ard was elected
queen of the homecoming festivities. Her
court was made up of Sarah Feeney, Sonya
Roberts, Gail Norris, Gail Turner, Frances
Stokes, Natalie Mathews.

The boys basketball team returned from last year almost intact and
marched through a 26 game schedule winning 22 and losing 4. Coaches
Donald LaBlanc and Sonny Dykes along with their boys deserved this fine
record for their fine efforts. This Derton team became the first to defeat
arch rival Perry in a regular season game. In the regional tournament the
Demons lost to a good Tifton team 74-69

Only a few veterans returned to the girls team, yet they earned a some-
what sensational 22 won 4 lost record. Hard work by the coaches, Mr. White
and Mr. Bowman, plus the efforts of our girls, rewarded them pleasantly.
With only one senior on the team, next year could be a banner year. The
girls won second place in our own Christmas Tournament and lost to Tifton
68 to 50 in the regional play.

The boys basketball Bee team, coached by Beeler Thompson, will be
expected to furnish our varsity with seasoned players in the future. With the
12 won 2 lost record they compiled this year, we feel that they are producing
the type of players needed for fine teams in later years

Optimism is running high in Coach Kirkseys baseball camp this spring.
The Nucleus for a fine ball club is definitely there if the pitching comes
through, and capable coaching should bring out their best.

On the citys western border,
Led by Gods great hand,
Proudly stands our alma mater,
Dearest in the land.
We will ever sing thee praises,
Striving without fail,
Heres to thee, our alma mater,
