his daughter. Born in Evans County, Georgia, March 8,
1919, to the late Mamie McNeal Stephens and Mr.
McKinley Henderson. He was 93 years of age and the oldest
of three children. His mother, father and siblings, Carlyle
and Carson, preceded him in death. He joined the St. Luke
Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He served in the
capacity of an usher, the Senior Usher President and
Chairman of the Deacon Board. Deacon McNeal was a
faithfiil and loyal member prior to moving to Valdosta, GA
following the death of his wife Ann. He ofien returned home
to Daisy to attend church services and to hear his pastor. Rev.
C.L. Anderson, deliver the Word of God. Rev. Anderson and
his wife Helen remained close friends with Deacon McNeal
even afier he moved away.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Leah Bacon

Willie, Eloise, Brenda, Jerry, Casandra, Gcoby and Bonita.
He and Ann also shared in the rearing of their niece,
Etrenda Jones Banks, of Lanham, Maryland. Etrenda has
encouraged her uncle with prayers and cards during the years
and especially during his illness. His family ties included
checking on relatives in Claxton, Daisy, Savannah, Atlanta,

with his cousin Varnadoe Brewton, her children and family.
Whenever he came home his desire was to get to Varneys
and to ride around with Ray in the area. In addition he

grandson K. Lamar (Bootsy) Barnes.
Kizer, often referred to as Kite, was an outdoorsman and
enjoyed bird and coon hunting. He planted gardens for the

dogs. As a Cement Mason he started his own business, The
McNeal Concrete Company and gave words of wisdom, in
his own way, to his children and anyone else he believed
needed guidance. He was proud of his family, friends and
was known for being a strong and outspoken man in Evans
County and beyond. He never forgot who he was or where
he came ftom. He often commented about living to see the
first black President of the United States while remembering
that his grandfathers background was that of being a slave.

years. Her love, kindness and support will be forever
remembered as well as that of her children.
/ read of a land more fair than this.
Ids free from sin and shame.
It is a land of perfect bliss.
Where none are sick or lame.
It is a land forever free
From disappointment sad;
Where all the saints in love agree
In things that make them glad.
It is a land where strife will end.
Where greed and pride will cease.
Where all will join in heart and hand.
In universal peace.
It is a land of true success.
Where all are doing well.
Where all rejoice and praise the Lord,
Who saved their souls from hell.
It is a land of no regrets
That cast their shadows round.
It is a bright and happy land.
In which no clouds are found.
The unkind word will never sting
Within this land above.
For all will speak like Christ their King,
The King of peace and love.
Here broken hearts will all be healed.
And friends will part no more.
Eternal joys are here revealed
On those celestial shores.
Through countless ages onward roll.
Its pleasures never cease.
Then let the Christ into your soul.
And share His eternal peace.
