God gave a special gift to Theotis, Sr. and Willie A. Powell Glover,
on March 14, 1952 in Claxton, Evans County, Georgia, as their lives
were blessed with a baby girl that they would name Sheroland.
Sheroland was a member of the Church, Claxton, Georgia where she
was a former member of the youth choir. She attended the Evans High
School, Claxton, Georgia. She attended North Georgia technical,
Clarksville, Georgia. She moved to New Rochelle, NY in 1975 where
she lived with her two sisters, Martha and Louise, her nieces, nephews
and cousins. She had a loving relationship and a special connection
with her family in New York.
Sheroland always had a longing desire to move back to Claxton, and
after many years living a wonderful life in New Rochelle, NY she
moved back to Claxton with her mother, until she met the man who
would become her husband, James Wilkes.
On November 6, 2009, Sheroland L. Glover and James Wilkes
entered into holy matrimony and they continued their lives happily
together with her mother in Claxton until her departure from this life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theotis Glover, Sr., her sis-
ter, Martha J. Lane, and brother, Theotis Glover, Jr.
On Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Claxton Nursing Home,
Claxton, Georgia, Sheroland L. Glover Wilkes answered Gods call as
she departed this earthly realm.
Sheroland lived a fulfilling life, and she is leaving to continue cele-
brating, her husband, James, her mother, Willie A Glover Teal, and her
sister, Louise Williams Slater, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.

The family will receive friends and share repast in the fellowship hall of
Thomas Grove A.M.E. Church.
Sheroland was a loving, caring, kind and wonderful human being.
She had such an unwavering spirit, an infectious laugh, the greatest
sense of humor, and an unselfish love that drew so many into her
circle. She chose her own path in life, she served her purpose
for this world and now, God has called her home.

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when 1 carried you. "
