Profile of Life
"To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under tiie iieaven."
Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to Be Born;
Missionary Remonia "Mona" Powell Williams was born on September 6,1945 in Claxton,
Georgia to the late Clinton and Nevada Powell.
A Time to Be Educated:
Remonia attended the public schools in Evans County, Georgia. She received a degree in
welding and graduated from the National Institute of Cosmetology.
A Time to Work:
Realizing that an idle mind is the devil's work place, Mona led a very busy life. Some jobs she
held included welding in the steel industry in Savannah and front-line cook and waitress in the
restaurant industry from 1970 to 1980. In 1980, Mona became a self-employed cosmetologist and
owner of "Mona's Salon." In 1998, she retired as a cosmetologist due to health reasons, but later
became a custodial supervisor at the Jewish Educational Association. She also served as president of
her Neighborhood Watch Program.
A Time to Serve:
At an early age. Missionary Williams joined Smith Chapel First Christ Holiness Church in
Claxton, Georgia under the leadership of Bishop O. Foxworth and Elder Mattie Bacon. She served
faithfully as a young usher.
In the early 1980's, Mona rededicated her life to the Lord and joined Owens Temple Holiness
Church, under the leadership of Bishop O. Harden. For many years she served faithfully on the First
Christ National Usher Board. She was the president of Owens Temple's senior and youth usher
board, a nursery Sunday School teacher, founder and president of the twelve tribes of Israel program
committee, and a member of the Owens Temple (outreach) Missionary Board, where she served on
such outreach missions as the Inner City Night Shelter.
A Time to Die:
Early in the morning on Friday, October 29, 2004, God sent an angel to reclaim his child as she
entered into eternal rest.
A Time to Love:
Missionary Williams was marred to the Loi^e of her life. Brother Ronnie Lee "Julio" Williams,
who went home to be with the Lord in May 2002. They lived a happy life together with their four (4)
sons, Clinton D. Powell, Allen (Tina) and Terry Williams all of Savannah, G A and Melvin Williams of
