OBITUARY
There is a reaper whose name is death,
And with his sickle kean
He reaps whom he will at breath,
He comes but cannot be seen.
Christianity does not exempt one from death.
It only insures triumph over death.
There is no other way of entrance into our
Heavenly Fathers house.
Rev. Thomas J. Lynch, the third son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Lynch was born Jan-
uary 25, 1891, in Screven County, Oliver, Georgia,
and departed this life March 7, 1974, in Evans
Memorial Hospital, Claxton, Georgia.
He joined St. John Baptist Church, Oliver,
Ga., at an early age, was a devoted Christian
worker always ready and willing to do whatever
his hands found necessary in the building of Gods
cause.
He attended Georgia State Industrial Col-
lege. At the time of his passing was Moderator
of the Tattnall Missionary Baptist Association,
Pastor of the Greater Zachariah Baptist Church,
Glennville, Ga., St. James Baptist Church, Ludo-
wici, Ga., and Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wal-
thourville, Ga. He was a member of Central City
Masonic Lodge, No. 12, in Macon, a member of
the Evans Memorial Hospital Board of Directors,
a former school teacher, an officer of the Georgia
Missionary Baptist Convention and a former res-
ident of Macon, where he was pastor of New Hope
Baptist Church. His pastoral service span
through 61 years.
In the year 1914 he was joined in Holy Matri-
mony with the late Mrs. Charolette B. Lynch.
They lived happily together until death. Novem-
ber 9, 1929, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to
Miss Ruby Elizabeth Tyson.
He leaves to mourn his passing, a devoted
wife, Mrs. Ruby E. Lynch, Claxton; two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Cora Boyette, Corona, N. Y., and Mrs.
Delores Ruthland, Wrens, Ga.; one brother, Mr.
Emory Lynch, Char gin Falls, Ohio; a foster son,
Tony Butler, Claxton, Ga.; two sons-in-law, Mr.
Willie Boyette, Mr. Charles Rutland; three sis-
ters-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Oliver, Philadelphia, Pa.,
and Mrs. Pearl Guess, Reidsville, Ga.; one broth-
er-in-law, Mr. Claud Tyson; three grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
