UNIVERSRY SYSIEM OF GEORGIA
Welcome to the Third Annual Georgia Banner Users Conference, Georgia Summit 2000!!!!
I am so pleased that the University System of Georgia Banner users have chosen to come together, once again, to share and learn from each other! This conference is a unique professional development opportunity for all of us as a team of staff across the state. Each year, I have personally witnessed the benefits of these opportunities to network with colleagues, to learn from each others experiences, and to come together to develop common solutions to common problems. We are uuly lucky to have the wealth of internal talent within the University System and I see that we are getting smarter with every passing day about sharing that talent and knowledge across the System.
Thank you for your willingness to participate in this imp?rtant event. Your contributions as session leaders, as moderators & facilitators, and as participants in giving each other and the Sys~em office feedback and advice are essential to the collective success in using the Ba.11:ner software system to provide the best service to the System's students, faculty and staff.
Sincerely and with warmest regards,
I

CAPP Web Demo

Presenter: Rich Loftus, SCT Corporation
SCT's Curriculum, Advising, and Program Planning (CAPP) application within

I

Banner2000 Student provides institutions with "a comprehensive tool that offers flexible

student tracking toward a degree, certificate, or diploma. CAPP helps users, whether students or faculty, navigate through sometimes complex and diverse course require-

I

ments, giving them the ability to comprehensively track a student's progress toward a

goal."

I

The University System of Georgia has initiated a project to implement CAPP at Georgia

College and State University (GCSU) as a "proof of concept" to evaluate CAPP's ability

in helping meet both institution specific and System-wide goals in the areas of transfer evaluation, improving advisement, and facilitating student progress verification for

I

graduation. This project would implement CAPP at GCSU and facilitate the creation of

a System model that could be replicated at other institutions.

I

In conjunction with the baseline implementation of CAPP as a University System

project, web-enablement of the compliance report is also being pursued. The SCT "Mods Center" has written web reports for CAPP for another client. This functionality will be demonstrated for the CAPP Implementation Team during breakfast on Friday.
