ROOSEVELT SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT

On January 23, 1980 the Roosevelt Soil and Water Conservation District was organized and is a legal subdivision of the Georgia State Government. The District exists to serve the public and to ensure a healthy and productive environment. For this reason, the District's task is to work for the well being of all people while safeguarding land, water, and related natural resources for the benefit of future generations.

Fiscal Year 2013 Accomplishments Roosevelt Soil and Water Conservation District

Offered support to Local Issuing Authorities for their Erosion and Sedimentation programs through education programs and overviews.
Encouraged teams to enter the Envirothon. Supported the EQIP, WHIP, CSP, CCRP, and other USDA programs. Supported youth education in their District by providing Soil and Water Stewardship
materials to schools and education centers. Supported the Two Rivers RC&D council and its programs including the no-till drill
program. Found sponsorship for 1 student to attend the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop
held in Tifton at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Held the Youth Wildlife Field Day to educate 3rd graders in Troup County about natural
resources at the Marvin Jones Outdoor Education Center at Troup County High School.
