I. FACILITIES
Objective - Maintain a District Office.
Action
Continue to seek support from each of the four counties to maintain
an office and pay salary for an Office Coordinator position and Part-

time Assistant Office Coordinator position.
Action - Seek outside sources of income to strengthen and support district activities and programs.
Action -
Manage District Financial and material resources to meet District goals in an efficient and productive manner and as prescribed by State guidelines.
II. EDUCATION
Objective - Educate the public on the purpose of the District and the conservation of our natural resources.
Action - 1. Provide news releases to the local media.
2. Provide and or lend assistance to schools in providing outdoor classrooms and nature trails.
3. Look for opportunities to provide outdoor classrooms and nature trails for the public. Follow up on an opportunity to establish a district nature trail at Fort Yargo State park in Barrow County.
4. Promote the envirothon Program at 4-H, FFA Programs and at the high schools in the District.
5. Sponsor students to the Natural Resources Conservation Workshop to introduce them at an early age to the concepts of soil and water conservation. Tuition will be paid from district funds or from outside sources.
6. Work toward more involvement in the schools in providing teaching material and other conservation opportunities for example: poster contest and photo contest.
7. Acquire educational material to have on hand at the district office to supply the schools for the promotion of environmental education.

8. Purchase or develop, and then distribute educational and informational materials to inform the public of the need to manage and protect soil and water resources.
Ill. PUBLIC AWARENESS OF DISTRICT PROGRAM
Objective- To give the district more visibility and to show the public how the district operates.
Action - 1. Develop a mailing list of specific groups and supply them with information that will help them understand their responsibility in the conservation of natural resources.

2. Work with State Soil and Water Conservation Commission, Natural
Resources Conservation Service and Landowners.
3. Educate county commission on watershed use and protection.
4. Develop an exhibit for display at various local functions.
5. Publish a by-annually newsletter for affiliate members and other supporters. The fall or spring edition will include the district annual report.
6. Develop and maintain working relations with agricultural and conservation groups including county, state and federal.
7. Arrange and conduct functions like banquets, luncheons and cookouts to recognize individuals for their contributions to soil and water conservation and promote greater participation.
8. Encourage Cities and Counties in promoting Greenspace.
9. Work with state, federal, local organizations and local workgroups on farm bill programs and help promote equine management, organic farms and sustainable agriculture.
IV. DEMONSTRATIONS AND SEMINARS Objective - Provide working examples of conservation measures.
Action -

1. Have at least one erosion and sedimentation seminar in the district and promote the training session sponsored by the State Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
2. Sponsor and conduct meetings and seminars to inform groups and individuals of particular conservation needs.
3. Sponsor and conduct demonstrations, tours, and field days to acquaint farmers and land-users with methods for protecting soil and water resources and promote greater participation. Promote Conservation work.
4. Conservation Field Day at end of summer.
5. Assist in promoting Sandy Creek Nature Center Ag Interactive Learning Center (ILC).
6. Help promote Conservation Easements throughout the district.
V. EROSION & SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PROGRAM
Objective- Promote the erosion and sedimentation program.
Action- 1. Record, process and review erosion and sediment control plans received from issuing authorities.
2. Follow up with issuing authority on denied erosion and sediment control plans.
3. Refer erosion and sedimentation control complaints to State Conservation Commission for investigation and resolution.
VI. FORESTRY
Objective - Promote the use of forest resources and management practices. Support U.S. Forestry Services.
Action - 1. Ask forestry personnel to speak on the topic of reforestation, insect control, harvesting and the use of (BMP) Best Management Practices.
2. Promote forestry.
3. Contact State Representatives concerning tax on forestry products.
VII. SUPERVISOR TRAINING AND AWARDS PROGRAM PARTICIPATION
Objective - Continue programs planned that will further educate and inform supervisors of their duties and responsibilities.

Action - 1. District will enter GACDS/TVA District of the Year contest. 2. Devote a portion of each regular district meeting to present information to the supervisors that will help them better serve as a supervisor. 3. Invite representatives from different agencies or groups to explain their activities in soil and water conservation. 4. Encourage supervisors to attend the State Soil and Water Conservation Commission Supervisors Training session.
VIII. SOIL AND WATER STEWARDSHIP Objective- To promote the stewardship of soil and water. Action - 1. Provide information to equip ministers on the need to conserve our natural resources. 2. Purchase and distribute Soil and Water Stewardship Week materials to inform the public of the need to manage and protect soil and water resources.
IX. DISTRICT PROGRAM EVALUATION Objective - To follow and accomplish all objectives of the district plan of work. Action - 1. Review the plan of work each month.
