All visitors are reqUired to purchase and display a ParkPass in their vehicle. Passes are \'a1id for all sites visited lhal day.
The ParkPass is a 52 daily or S25 annual parking pass valid at all stale parts. 100% of these rnenues go toward park and
historic site repairs, maintenance and rena,'alions! Past projects irtclude campground and cOllage renovations. group shelter and trail construction, road improvements and dock replacement. Look for signs identifying ParkPass projects when visiting parks and historic sites.
ParkPass fees are collected three ways:
I) Daily passes are dispensed from collection boxes at parking areas at the sites.
2) Annual passes are sold al all parks and historic sites, al the Atlanta office. or lhrough a mail order fonn on the back cover of this brochure (ask about senior discounts). Annual passes are hung from the rearview mirror and are transferable be!ween vehicles regiSlcred to the same household.
3) Overnight guests at cottages, campsites and lodges pay a one-day rate per vehicle at registration that is valid for the duration of their stay.

Every Wednesday is a free day. Diners in lodge resUlurants do nO( need a ParkPass. Auendees at day-long lodge meetings do not need a ParkPass. Vehicles parked at golf coorses do IlOI need a ParkPass.

Intoxicants: It is unlawful for any person to consume or use alcoholic beverages or inloxicams in any public use area of a park. lodge. historic site or recreational area. Weapons: Firearms, bows and arrows. explosives, firework!;. slingshots, fishing spears. or any device that discharges projectiles by any means are prohibited on slate parks. Collecting: All wildlife. plant life, artifacts, driftwood. or any other natural or man-made features are protected at all state parks and historic siles. Please leave them undisturbed so other visitors may enjoy them too. Use of electronic devices for "treasure hunting" is prohibited.
Motor Vehicles: Park roads are public roads. All vehicles are subjecl10 license safety requirements and regulations of the Gcorgia Dcpartmcnt of Public Safety. Motorized bikes are restricted to park roads. Noise Leyels: Consideration of others is a must at all times. Musical instruments, radios. televisions or oilier noise-making devices are not to be used between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and must be used in moderation at all other times. Visitors: Visitors to cottages, campsites and lodge rooms are weleome: however, the number of visitors and registered guests must not exceed the stated capacity at any time. Campsite Occupancy: To protect park resources, campsite occupancy i limited to ONE of the following combinations of camping rigs:
A. One motor home and two additional automobiles. B. One auto with pop-up tent uailer and one additional auto. C. One auto witlllt:lvel uailer and one additional auto. D. One pick-up wilh mounted camping rig and 1\\0 additional
automobiles. E. One aUlo with tent and one additional automobile.
In addition to each of the above, one pup tent is authorized. One boat trailer per site is allowed, provided the site is large enough. Each additional party will be required to use another sile and be charged an additional camping fee.
Eligibilily: Scout groups and otheT )'ooth groups are not eligible to occupy de\'eloped campsites in lenl and uai1er areas. Group camps and pioneer camping areas are available to such groups al many slale parks.
Age Lindl: Campers under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult
Hours: Campgrounds open 7:00 a.m. and close 10:00 p.m.
Time Limits: Occupancy of a sile at any one part. is limited to 14 days. A part visitor using a site for 14 nights mUSI vacate the park for a period of not less than 4 nights.
Minimum Stay: A Iwo-night minimum will be required for all camping reservations made for weekends (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday) and a three.night minimum for Memorial Day. Labor Day and 4th of July weekends. Campers will be charged for lhe required minimum number of nights evcn if they lea\'c after one night.

Camping
Display Camping Receipt: Campers should fold the camping receipt so thallhe expiration dale is visible and anach it to the campsite number sign located at each individual campsite.
Camping Area Capacity: All campers muslust designated camping areas. Camping between designated sites is prohibited. When camping areas are filled 10 their stated capacity, 00 other campers will be allowed 10 Slay overnight in the park.
Olher Information: Any lenl. trailer or Olher peBOOal property left on a campsite ullOCCupied overnight shall be subject to removal and fees paid will be forfeited. Campers must register before selting up. Dishwashing is prohibited at drinking faucets or in comfort station facilities. All trash and garbage should be placed in proper receptacles.
Campsite Dennilions:
Tcntffr:liler/RV Campsite - All campsites offer electrical and water hookups, grills or fire rings, and picnic tables. Modem comfon stations wilh hot showers, nush toilets and electrical oUilcts are within easy walking distance. All campgrounds have dump stations. A few stale parks offer cable TV hookups.
Walk-In Campsite ~ Walk-in campsites do not have water, electricity or garbage containers. Parking areas are provided. with a trnilleading 10 the tent pad. A picnic table and fire ring are L1sLlally available at Ihe pad. Walk-in campsites are genernlly located within walking distance of a comfon station and other amenities.
Primitin Campsites - Primiti\-e siles are located in more
remote sections of the park with access to the campsites by hiking lrnil only. No waler spigot toilet or electricity is available. All penonal gear is packed by the camper.
Pioneer Campsites - PiOnetr camping areas are for organized groups LInder the active supervision of adLllt leaders. Sites are
semi-remote and without shower facilities. Some parks provide ronning water. electricity. picnic shelters and garbage containers.

Cottages
All cotlages are fully equipped wilh stoves and refrigerator>. all necessary cooking and serving utensils (except dish soap). towels. bed linens and blankets. All cottages have heal and most have air conditioning. Many roIlages have porches/decks and wood-burning fireplaces/sloves (firewood not provided). Handicapped accessible collages are available at many of the parks.
Rcsen"ations: All cottage reservations are made through the Reservation Resource Center at 1-800-864-7275 (770-389-7275 in metro Atlanta) and are accepted up to II months 10 the day in ad\'ance. For example. a
perwn may call as early as June 1510 make a reservation for May IS of
the following year.
Deposit: Adeposit of one nigh(s lodging is due within seven days of making the reservation. Checks should be made payable 10 Resen'ntion Resourtt. A reservation will not be oonfinned until a deposit is received and aettpled by the Resel"ation Resource Center. Deposits fIOI. received within 7 days will result in automatic cancellation.
Minimum Stll)': Generally. parks require a 2night minimum with
advance rt:StTV3tiOll5: however. parks may Kpll-night stays on a 'W-alkin basis. Some: parts require a one-week minimum from June I through Labor Day: however. shorter stays are allo\\c:d for re5el"ations made less than 30 days in advance. Note: A three-night minimum is required for Memorial Day. Labor Day. and Thanksgiving weelo:ends.
Registration: Register at Pari; Office or Cbc:clo:-In Station upon arrival.
Check-In Time: 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Reservation oonfinnation slip and balance of payme:nt must be presented 'When chc:c:ldng in. Most part gates are locked at 10 p.m. Reservations will be held until 10 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date. Both the reservation and the c:kposit fee are forfeited if the oottage guest has nOt checked in by 10 p.m. on the scheduled arrival date.
Ched-Out Time: II a.m. A late check-out fee will be charged after this time unless an extension is pennined by the Park Office. An extension can be granted only when others are not waiting for a cottage.
Refund: The deposit will be refunded if a minimum of 72 hours nOlice is
ghen to the park: however, aSIO.OO perunit cancellation fee will be
deducted from the deposit. If a deposit was paid by check, the deposit receipi must be returned to the Reservation Resource Center for a refund. Any unused portion of II rcservlltion period can he refunded only if minimum occupancy hllS be<ln satisfied.
Occupancy Limitation: Occupancy of a couage is limited to 14 nights.
A cottage may not be used overnight to accommodate more than its normal bed capacity. Maximum occupancy of cottages may vary from park to park.
Cottages
Group Use: Small youth groups such as scoutS or church groups may occupy a single COllage in a park's off-season provided the group is properly chaperoned and the capacity of the COllage is not exceeded. An adult must accompany all unmarried collage guests under 18 yean; of age.
Pets: Pets are IlOt :lIlowed in COllages or cottage areas. Kennels are not available on the parts.
Firewood: Firewood is IlOI provided: however. some parks sell firewood.
Checking-Out: COllages should be left in good condition. Dishes and cookware should be Iliashed and put away. Equipment furnishings or bed linens may IlOl be carried outside the cottages. Occupants may be charged for damaged or missing items.

Sapelo Island Tours
The Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Re serve (SINERR) conducts public tours of the island 011 Wednesday and Saturday (plus Friday during the summer) and special group 10U~ on Tuesday. Thursday alld Friday. There are no tours 011 Sunday and
Monday. Tours depart 011 the Sapelo ferry from the mainlalld at 8:30 a.m. on \\'eekdays and 9:00 a.m. 011 Saturday. Return to the mainland is at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Guided bus lours include visits to ecological and historical poillls on Sapelo Island such as salt marshes. beach and dUlle areas, Reynolds Mansion, Ulliversity of Georgia Maine Institute. Hog Hammock Community alld ruins of a 19th century antebellum coHon and sugar plantation. Tours nrc booked through the Darien Welcome Center (912) 437-6684. The lodges vary in size from 30 to 100 guest rooms. with special features such as sleeping loft'l, suites wilh. separate bedrooms and porches. ADA accessible and non-smoking rooms are available.
