Surr ounded by 70,000-acre Clarks Hill Lake, Bobby Br own State Park is located on a peninsula and provides a quiet oasis for water sport and camping enthusiasts. The largest man -made lake east of the Mississippi River offers excellent fishing, boating. skiing and sightseeing. Overnight visitors can choose from t wo campgrounds or the small yurt vi llage. Yurts. which are like large tents made of canvas and wood, ar e a unique camping experience pr oviding soft beds. electricity, a ceiling fan and picnic area. Located where the old town o f Petersburg once thrived during the 1790s, this par k is named for Lt. Robert T. Br own, U.S. Navy. who gave his life during World War II.
