SUMMARY OF LAUS METHODOLOGY

1967-1972
Employment data by place of work, not place of residence. Employment and unemployment data are not adjusted to the current Population survey. In SMSA's, estimates are made for the total SMSA and not disaggregated to the county level.

Employment and unemployment are adjusted to the current Population

survey. In SMSA's, estimates are disaggregated to the county level

based on census share ratios.

1975-1977
Employment by place of residence using 1970 place of residence ratios. Employment and unemployment are adjusted to the current Population survey. In SMSA's and LMA's, estimates are disaggregated to the county level based on census share ratios.

1978-1979
