BY THE GOVERNOR:

WHEREAS:

The Georgia General Assembly during its 1990 legislative session enacted House Bill 1318 (Ga. Laws 1990 p.1785, Act No. 1390) which created the
State-wide Child Fatality Review Panel; and

WHEREAS:

Said panel shall review the reports of local child abuse protocol committees, annually report to the Governor regarding the prevalance and circumstances of child fata-lities in the state, recommend measures to reduce fatalities caused by other than natural causes, and establish procedures for the conduct of investigations by committees into deaths of children.

NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY

The Georgia General Assembly during its 1990 Session enacted the Georgia Municipal Training Act, House Bill 1442 (Act No. 1372, 1990 Georgia Laws, P. 1646) to require newly elected members of a munici9al governing authority, prior to taking office, to attend a course of training and education on matters pertaining to the administration and operation of municipal government; and

Said Act created and established the Georgia Municipal Training Institute which shall have the power, duty and authority to design, implement and administer said course of training and education.

The Georgia General Assembly during its 1990 Session enacted the Georgia County Leadership Act, House Bill 1442 (Act No. 1372, 1990 Georgia Laws, p. 1642) to require newly elected members of a county governing authority, prior to taking office, to attend a course of training and education on matters pertaining to the administration and operation of county government; and

WHEREAS:

Said Act created and established the Georgia County Leadership Academy which shall have the power, duty and authority to design, implement and administer said course of training and education.
