The role of the project manager and the environment in which he or she must operate are changing and will change even more in the future. We are expected to do more with less, communicate to executives regarding the business alignment and value of the project, and manage multiple stakeholder needs and expectations. Traditional project management practices do not necessarily help us navigate the waters of on-going business change. You may wonder if the PMP certification you already hold is good enough. It is a start, but it doesn't address the business acumen needed for the evolving role of the project manager. The State of Georgia Project Manager Certification Program will address those needs. It is designed to broaden the competencies of today's project manager and bring a business-focused approach to the practice of project management in the state of Georgia.
