From 1924 to 1964, there were a total of 415 executions: 162 in Milledgeville 253 in Reidsville
First and only woman to be executed was Lena Baker Supreme Court suspended all executions in the United
States from 1964 to 1976 In June 1980, the electric chair was moved to the Georgia
Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP) in Jackson and executions resumed and no longer took place at GSP In 2001, the Supreme Court ruled the use of the electric chair violated the state constitution's ban on cruel and unusual punishment
