Effective Monday, January 12, 2009, the Georgia Department of Corrections will be implementing a Consolidated Banking Process (CBP). This initiative will offer expanded options for Probationers to submit funds to the Department.

1) Visit walk up centers for JPay at one of over 600 locations statewide. This includes any of the 60 Ace Cash Express locations or one of the MoneyGram locations found at your local Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, etc. To find your nearest location, call 1-800-574-JPAY (5729).

Providing more efficient and user-friendly payment options for inmates and probationers
ATTENTION: Effective Monday, January 12, 2009 Payments will no longer be accepted at the local facility or probation office All inmate and probation trust accounts will switch to the GDC Consolidated Banking Process. This brochure summarizes procedures that must be followed to ensure funds are properly posted in an effective and timely manner.

Three Methods of Payment

New Inmate Trust Fund Process
The Georgia Department of Corrections is converting to both a single Offender Trust Account and a single State Probation Office account, both of which will be managed centrally. It will allow the Department to close approximately 150 locally managed accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long will it take for the funds to be deposited into my account? A. The funds will be available the day after the receipt, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.
Q. What is my proof of payment to my Probation/Parole Office? A. If the payment is made through Western Union or JPay, the probationer will have the receipt of payment from the vendor. If the payment is mailed to the P.O. Box, it is available to the Probation Officer immediately once the receipt is recorded.
Q. I made a Western Union or JPay payment and have not received credit for it. Where did the payment go? A. Contact the vendor using information on your receipt or contact the Consolidated Banking Unit at 404-463-4178.
Q. Why can't I mail a money order directly to a facility or take it to my Probation Officer? A. The Department of Corrections has moved to a Consolidated Banking Process to ensure accurate and timely receipts and disbursements. Due to this change in process, the local business office is not set up to receive funds.
Q. What information is needed on my payment to ensure timely and accurate processing? A. The GDC number and last name of the inmate or probationer.
