Who We Serve
Founded in 1983 as the first inpatient Brain Injury Program in Georgia, the Brain Injury Program at Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation offers comprehensive rehabilitation services in inpatient, outpatient and day treatment settingsfor people with cognitive, behavioral and physical limitations resulting from brain injury and disease, including:
Traumatic Brain Injury Anoxic and Other DiffuseEncephalopathies Encephalitis Cerebral Palsy Learning Disability - Hyperactivity Disorder Severe Seizure Disorder with Cognitive Deficits Subdural Hematoma, Subarachnoid
Hemorrhage, Intracerebral Hemorrhage/Hematoma or Ventricular Hemorrhage Brain Tumor
The Brain Injury Program serves patients whose disabilities areof recent onset, regression or progression and who demonstrate the potential to improve in areas of self-care, mobility, safety, communication, cognition and behavior.

Located on the secure, tranquil grounds of the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation in WarmSprings, the Brain Injury Program provides an ideal environment conducive to the rehabilitation of persons with brain injury.
Patients with traumatic brain injury very often

experience difficulties with cognition and changes in personality as well as physical difficulties. The Brain Injury Program addresses the special needs of patients with traumatic brain injury by utilizing a broader approach that emphasizes neuropsychological and cognitiverehabilitation, as well as physical rehabilitation services. An interdisciplinary team of caring, compassionate professionals work together with the patientand family todevelop and implement a comprehensive treatment plan designed to meet each patient's individual needs.

Our goal is to increase the patient's overall functional independence in work, school and home settings.
Service That Makes A Difference
Since we first began serving patients with brain injury, thousands of formerpatients now lead fuller, more independent lives as a result of treatment at the Brain Injury Program at the Roosevelt Institute. The Brain Injury Program provides cost efficient treatment for our patients, resulting in significant functional gains and marked improvements in patients' memory, orientation, motor skills, depression and activities of daily living. Studies show that following discharge, our patients function at higher levels than regional and national averages. Furthermore, treatment costs are significantly lower when compared to regional and national averages.
