Prescribed Fires
Wildfires can happen any time of the year. Most wildfires are caused by careless burning, and they ravage forests, communities, and property.
When wildfires threaten, you may see smoke drifting across the highway, or be distracted by emergency vehicles or distant blazes.
Planned and managed by forestry professionals, prescribed fire is an excellent tool in the management and protection of forest land.
Specifically, they: Reduce wildfire impact by elimi-
nating excess fuel
Enhance wildlife habitats by nurturing healthy wildlife popula-tions
Provide ecological maintenance & restoration of critical ecosystems
