Non-point source water pollution remediation financing programs

Non-Point Source Water Pollution Remediation Financing Programs

GLCP has helped protect more than 323,000 acres in 113 counties since 2005.

The Georgia Land Conservation Program (GLCP) maintains a partnership with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division and the Department of Natural Resources to provide financing for projects that protect Georgia's land and water resources. Grants, low-interest loans and tax credits are available to government entities, non-government organizations and private landowners for projects that both permanently protect conservation lands and improve surface water quality.
Thirteen non-point source projects throughout the state have been awarded more than $11 million by the GLCP. Funding may be used to pay land acquisition, due diligence and construction costs for waterway stabilization, stream buffer preservation, and other water quality improvement projects. The table on back side of this handout lists contact information for state sources of financing for non-point source remediation projects.
