NEED OF TRAINING PROGRAM
Today, precision of the highest order is built into the units which make up the automotive vehicle. Those who make repairs on these carefully engineered u n i t s should be well-trained, thoroughly-informed, s k i ll e d craftsmen. Technical advancement in automotive design demands that a mechanic possess c o m p l e t e understanding of the basic operating principles of each functioning unit in order to quickly and accurately diagnose troubles or failures.
PURPOSE OF THE CARBURETION CLINIC
The purpose of the carburetion clinic is to enable those employed in the automotive mechanics field t o obtain a better working knowledge of the t e c h n i c a 1 problems involved in the operation of modern automotive carburetion units.
This course is designed to teach the fundamental principles of construction, operation, and maintenance of the major makes of carburetors-Holley, C art e r , Rochester, and Zenith.
THE INSTRUCTOR
The insL uctor of this clinic is an expert, outstanding in his field of work. He is a practical automotive repairman with many years of experience in the trade with extensive training in factory and trade schools. In addition, he has had specialized training in methods a n d procedures of teaching vocational subjects.
WHO MAY ENROLL?
Only men who are employed in the automotive mechanics f i e 1d may enroll in this course.

WHAT WILL IT COST?
There is no t u it i o n or enrollment fee. This clinic is a service offered by the public vocational schools.
CERTIFICATES
Certificates will be issued to each person satisfactorily completing the course.
TIME AND PLACE OF MEETINGS
The time and place of meetings will be arranged to suit the majority of the group. Class members w i ll be expected to attend each meeting throughout the course.
During the day, on-the-job training will be available to all who request this additional assistance. Training will consist of help on the j o b in diagnosing troubles, in making repairs on automotive units, and in applying class work to the actual working conditions in the shops of class members.
PLAN OF INSTRUCTION
Instruction is g i v e n through the use of actual demonstration units. All equipment, tools and specifications are furnished by the sponsoring agencies. Each mechanic will be assigned individual units with which to work. :\!embers of the group are encouraged to ask questions and to enter into discussions. One lesson topic will be covered e a c h time the class meets. Discussions are conducted in the usual trade terms and will have a direct relation to the mechanic's daily work.
LENGTH OF THE COURSE
The course is organized for twenty-four clock hours o f instruction. Class meetings are usually three hours in length.

HOW TO OBTAIN THIS TRAINING
To obtain this training two class groups should be organized to m e e t on alternate days. Each group should have not less than twenty mechanics enrolled. Additional classes may be formed when the number desiring training exceeds fifty. (A maximum of twenty-five c a n be accommodated in one class.)
The clinic may be held in towns where there is a minimum of twenty for one class, if the mechanics are willing to attend each week night consecutively until the course is completed. ( A short course-12 clock hours in length-organized for small enrollments can be arranged by special request; meetings are scheduled for four consecutive nights.)
It is necessary for the local community to furnish suitable classroom facilities, such as car dealer's showroom. Chamber of Commerce meeting room, school shop, and chairs. light and heat as may be necessary.
